Serious about law. Serious about trading.

We’re looking for a new Legal Counsel to join our Legal & Market Access team at InCommodities Europe. At InCommodities Europe, we strive to master European energy trading with technology. The Legal & Market Access team plays a crucial role in simplifying complexity to enable new business opportunities while managing legal risk.

You’ll work directly with a variety of stakeholders across our business in a dynamic, international environment and contribute through your legal advice and expertise in energy law.
We offer a lot of flexibility and for the right candidate, we are open to hybrid and remote solutions.

What you’ll do

You’ll draft, review, and negotiate contracts across the full energy trading value chain and beyond. You’ll advise the business on legal risk management, regulatory changes, and market access-related obligations across multiple jurisdictions. You’ll also help shape how legal services are delivered at InCommodities. More specifically, you’ll:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate standard or bespoke international energy commodity trading contracts, such as EFET Power, Gas and Certificates agreements, gas storage contracts, gas transport capacity contracts and more
  • Review and advise on various market access related agreements, such as TSO agreements, exchange membership agreements, and other market access-related contracts
  • Monitor ongoing legal and regulatory developments across a number of jurisdictions and assess their impact on our trading activities to advise the business on appropriate legal risk management
  • Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of other ad hoc contracts, such as non-disclosure agreements, vendor agreements, consultancy agreements and similar
  • Collaborate both within the team and across departments to support the establishment of sound legal risk management practices in InCommodities
  • Take an active part in supporting the development of our Legal & Market Access team, through active participation in optimizing our legal service provision processes and projects

Your team

You’ll join a lean, skilled, and trusted Legal & Market Access team that cares about making an impact. The team culture is collaborative, ambitious, and grounded in quality and excellence. We work closely with many other teams and handle both strategic initiatives and daily legal support, delivered with pragmatism, diligence, and speed. We take pride in our craftsmanship and care about precision, depth and continuously learning from one another.

What you bring

  • A Master’s degree in Law (cand.jur from a Danish university or LL.M. from an EU/EEA university)
  • Ideally, 2+ years of experience from a law firm or in-house role, with a focus on energy law and specifically energy commodity trading contracts
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken (additional languages are a plus)
  • Readiness to take the next step in your career and eagerness to grow and deepen your expertise

How you work

  • You’re highly structured and organized, with an ability to prioritize effectively and work efficiently
  • You’re capable of navigating a high degree of complexity across national, EU and international legal orders whilst interacting with both internal and external stakeholders
  • You’re disciplined, self-driven and take pride in a job well done, no matter the size of the task
  • You’re comfortable sharing your opinions and knowledge
  • You’re a team player at heart who will do what is best for InCommodities

What you can expect

  • A dynamic, impact-driven environment where your work is meaningful
  • A team that values your expertise, trusts your judgment, and supports your growth
  • A company culture built on honesty, autonomy, and rethink – we value diverse perspectives and believe great legal work comes from people who think differently

We’ll be reviewing applications on a rolling basis, so apply as soon as you’re ready.

Let’s rethink energy trading – together.

We’re InCommodities Europe – and we don’t do business as usual. Whether it’s how we trade energy or how we build culture, we challenge the status quo every step of the way.

The energy market is shifting – from fossil fuels to renewables. We’re part of that transition. At InCommodities Europe, we act as the middleman between buyers and sellers of power and gas. We move energy across borders to where it’s needed most, or store it and sell it when the time is right. We play a critical role in the value chain – from production to consumption – ensuring energy gets where it’s needed, when it’s needed.

Our trading decisions are driven by deep market insight and powered by data, quantitative analysis, and constant curiosity.

Making InCommodities outstanding takes all kinds of people – different personalities, backgrounds, and ways of thinking. But we’re united by one thing: We’re fuelled by ideas. And we’re here to rethink status quo.

Our culture

At InCommodities, we win as a team. You’ll work alongside bold, honest, and ambitious people who challenge each other to grow – and get better every day.

Autonomy is real here, and it comes with trust. You’re expected to take ownership and make decisions that move InCommodities forward. Not by asking for permission, but by working with the right people to get it right. You’ve got freedom – and a strong team to back you up.

We care about personal and cultural fit. Not because we expect everyone to be the same, but because we’re building a place where people genuinely enjoy working – and want to stick around.

Expect a casual vibe. We keep a flat hierarchy, no dress code, and no corporate red tape to slow you down. Just trust, teamwork, and a healthy dose of fun along the way. And yes, we like to hang out outside office hours as well.
