Would you like to help build the energy trading company of tomorrow? Are you passionate about building the best possible TECH platform to empower your colleagues and the business—even when faced with the most challenging and complex problems? If so, we want to hear from you!

Our APAC TECH team is seeking a Platform Engineer to help adopt platform engineering best practices and to develop and maintain the TECH platform. You should be eager to take on responsibility, ensure high uptime, deliver outstanding solutions to the organization, and — most importantly — be ready to embrace a steep learning curve. We guarantee a team of awesome, highly skilled colleagues who are dedicated to helping you invent the solutions of tomorrow.

The Journey

Since 2017, we have been on a mission to rethink energy trading and organizational culture. At the heart of this lies EnergyTech - a unique fusion of energy trading and technology. Having established a strong presence in Europe and the US, we started our journey into APAC in 2024, with offices now in Singapore, Tokyo and Sydney.

Your Journey as a Platform Engineer

When you join InCommodities, you are not just joining a company – you are becoming part of an ambitious and a fast-growing energy trading company. We work with the newest technology and build the right solutions from the start! We embrace a learning-by-doing approach to create a steep learning curve, recognizing that, despite your experience, there will be many new areas and alternative methodologies for you to explore.

We are here to advance together and to build a successful business.

Responsibilities – you will:

  • Lead the development and maintenance of our container-based and database platform using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to support business needs
  • Lead the development and maintenance of effective monitoring, notification services, and visualization for tech operations
  • Actively participate in the evaluation and adoption of new technologies to support our internal data platform and software stack
  • Assist the business in deploying resources (Kubernetes, VMs, databases, storage accounts, etc.) as needed, ensuring proactive resource allocation to maintain smooth operations
  • Assist in deploying code to production seamlessly and securely through robust CI/CD pipelines
  • Contribute to general tech support alongside the team, ensuring continuous system availability

Personal skills – we expect that you:

  • Stay open to new technologies and approaches, prioritizing the best tool for the task over loyalty to any specific stack
  • Are self-driven and act proactively, thoroughly, and with a high sense of urgency
  • Take "one for the team" and expect your colleagues to do the same
  • Are a good communicator with strong interpersonal skills
  • Have an eye for detail and value TECH solutions that last for more than just a day

  • Health insurance
  • Maternity and paternity leave (paid and unpaid options).
  • Paid time off
  • Meals, snacks, and drinks at the office

At InCommodities APAC, we embody a startup mindset. Our culture is deeply entrepreneurial, seeking people who thrive in dynamic environments with constant change and a strong focus on continuous improvements.

We operate with a flat organizational structure, fostering autonomy, enabling fast and distributed decision-making processes and encouraging open communication. This approach ensures that innovative ideas can swiftly turn into impactful actions, driving our growth and success.

We value responsibility, initiative and flexibility to exceed defined job descriptions. This ensures that everyone contributes meaningfully and takes ownership which is crucial for driving our growth and adaptability in these early phases of building our APAC presence.

A people-first culture

We value a strong social community with frequent events outside the office. The work culture is relaxed; you don’t have to abide by a dress code or a strict hierarchy, so you won’t be frustrated with too many rules, policies, or bureaucratic processes.

Our core values - honesty, transparency, and rethinking - are fundamental to how we engage with each other. Without honesty and transparency, we can't build trust, and trust among team members is the foundation of effective relationships and collaboration, ultimately for achieving better outcomes together. And as for rethinking, it’s deeply rooted in our DNA, pushing us to challenge status quo and continuously develop and innovate.

In other words, InCommodities is not your average workplace – it’s awesome.

An inclusive workplace

Our commitment to fostering an inclusive and innovative culture makes InCommodities an exciting place to grow your career. We are dedicated to creating a diverse workplace where everyone feels valued and respected.
