Do you have a solid quantitative toolbox and a passion for understanding how data can shape markets? Would you like to explore the fascinating intersection of econometrics, macroeconomics, and energy trading in a high-impact role?

We are looking for a Quantitative Analyst to join our Macro Trading team at InCommodities Europe – someone who is eager to learn, driven by curiosity, and ready to grow into a role where quantitative thinking meets real-world trading. Could this be you?

Be part of something new – and bold

In our Macro Trading team, we rethink how macroeconomic data, and econometric modelling can drive energy trading decisions. We are building our team like a start-up – high autonomy, low bureaucracy, lots of responsibility – but with the backing of a mature, successful company.

This is a rare opportunity to join us at an early stage and help shape our quantitative foundation for trading across the power, gas, and emissions markets.

What you will work on

  • Apply econometric and statistical methods to analyze and forecast key macro and market variables.
  • Build and improve models that help inform and guide trading decisions.
  • Collaborate closely with analysts, quants, and traders to explore market dynamics and translate insights into action.
  • Contribute to the development of a robust macroeconomic framework that supports both discretionary and systematic strategies.

Who you are

  • You have, or are close to completing, a master’s degree in economics, finance, statistics, mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Previous work experience in a relevant position is a plus but not required.
  • You are passionate about econometrics, data modelling, and real-world applications of economic theory.
  • You are curious and proactive, eager to understand how markets work and how to quantify them.
  • You can code – ideally in Python – and enjoy working with data.
  • You are not afraid to ask questions, test ideas, and iterate.

What you can expect from us

  • A fast-learning environment where theory meets trading floor – and where you will see your work matter.
  • Flexibility, freedom, and the opportunity to grow quickly into areas that match your skills and interests.
  • A culture that values honesty, transparency, and rethinking the way things are done.
  • An informal and flat organization with no dress codes, no micromanagement, and no corporate nonsense.
  • Regular social events, fun traditions, and the chance to work with some of the smartest and most ambitious people in the industry.

We’re InCommodities: One of the fastest growing trading companies in the world. The energy market is transitioning away from fossil fuels to renewable energy, and we take part in making that happen!

At InCommodities, we support the transition by acting as the middleman between sellers and buyers of power and gas - we transport energy across borders where it’s needed, or we store it and sell it later, providing a vital function in the value chain from production to consumption. InCommodities’ business and decision-making are driven by a deep understanding of the energy markets and based on quantitative analysis and rethinking what we do.

Making InCommodities outstanding requires all types of people with different personalities, backgrounds, and approaches to solving different tasks and projects. But one thing connects us: we're fuelled by new ideas and rethinking the status quo.

Our Culture

We value a strong social culture with a high frequency of employee events outside the office. We want to win and be the best in class – therefore, you'll be surrounded by like-minded people who are bold, honest, ambitious, and the smartest in their field, and who root for one another, as we value a genuine sense of team spirit.

To help each other grow, we use honest and constructive feedback and sparring within and across teams. Personality and cultural fit are important to us because we want you to be happy here. The work culture is relaxed; you don’t have to abide by a dress code or a strict hierarchy, so you won’t be frustrated with too many rules, policies, or bureaucratic processes.

In other words, InCommodities is not your average workplace – it’s awesome.
