Turn complex data into trading decision in the North American natural gas market.
We’re continuing to grow our US natural gas trading activities and looking for a Quantitative Analyst who’s ready to combine a strong quantitative toolbox with a genuine interest in energy markets. You’ll work close to the trading desk, building fundamental models, digging into market data, and developing tools and strategies with direct trading impact.

What you’ll do
- You’ll build and maintain quantitative models of North American natural gas fundamentals, such as supply-demand models
- You’ll create tools and analysis to implement and fine-tune algorithmic trading strategies in collaboration with traders and software developers
- You’ll conduct back-testing and validation processes of algorithmic trading strategies to ensure the reliability and accuracy of models before implementation
- You’ll ensure the quality of input data used in trading models
- You’ll take ownership of documentation to ensure comprehensive coverage of model functionalities and interfaces
- You are located or willing to relocate to Stamford, CT, or Houston, TX
- Eventually to develop and refine new algorithmic natural gas trading strategies
Your Team
You’ll join the US Gas team and work closely with other quants and traders mostly located in Stamford, Connecticut, and Houston, Texas. In addition, you will collaborate with a technology and a power trading team in Austin, Texas, and Aarhus, Denmark.
What you bring
- A master’s degree in finance, economics, or another related quantitative field
- 1-3+ years of experience working in a similar position within gas trading
- Excellent skills in quantitative modeling (e.g., statistics, econometrics, applied mathematics, physics)
- Great programming skills, preferably in Python
- Excellent communication in English – both written and verbal
