Build trading strategies where quantitative thinking meets real market impact.

We’re looking for a Quantitative Gas Trader to join our US Natural Gas team in Stamford, CT. You’ll work at the intersection of trading, data, and technology – developing and executing algorithmic strategies in one of the world’s most dynamic energy markets.

What you’ll do

  • You develop and execute quantitative trading strategies in US natural gas markets
  • You monitor and optimize algorithmic trading strategies to adapt to market conditions and manage risk
  • You analyze supply and demand dynamics, price trends, weather patterns, and geopolitical developments affecting gas markets
  • You collaborate with quantitative analysts and developers to translate insights into scalable trading algorithms
  • You track and evaluate trading performance, turning data into actionable improvements
  • You contribute to refining our trading infrastructure, tools, and execution setup

Your Team

You’ll join our US Gas team, working across Stamford, Austin, and Aarhus. The team combines deep market expertise with strong quantitative and technical capabilities – and we thrive on collaboration, curiosity, and challenging the status quo.

You’ll work in a fast-paced environment with direct access to decision-making, short feedback loops, and the freedom to take ownership from day one. We believe the best ideas win – regardless of title.

What you bring

  • You hold a master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or another quantitative field
  • You have at least 2 years of experience trading natural gas or related energy markets
  • You understand North American natural gas fundamentals and market dynamics
  • You have experience with commodity trading platforms such as ICE and CME
  • You bring strong quantitative and analytical skills within statistics, econometrics, or applied mathematics
  • You’re confident programming in Python or similar languages
  • You’re able to work from Stamford, CT, or travel there when needed

How you work

  • You take ownership and thrive in a high-performance environment
  • You’re analytical, detail-oriented, and quality-conscious
  • You challenge assumptions and constantly look for smarter ways of doing things
  • You communicate clearly and confidently share your perspectives
  • You collaborate openly and play for the team
  • You stay curious, adaptable, and eager to improve

What you can expect from us

From day one, you’ll get a high degree of autonomy, responsibility, and trust in a fast-moving, data-driven trading environment where your work has direct impact on trading strategies and market decisions. You’ll work alongside brilliant colleagues with deep domain knowledge and a strong team mindset, in a casual, no-fluff culture built on transparency, honesty, and rethinking the way things are done. At InCommodities, personal growth, collaboration, and performance go hand in hand.

We’re InCommodities North America – and we’re building the full energy trading value chain across US power and gas.

We’ve been trading power in US markets since 2020. Now we’re scaling up – expanding into gas, growing our local teams, and opening new offices across the US.

What sets us apart is our EnergyTech edge. We combine deep market expertise with advanced technology, quantitative models, and a data-driven mindset to trade smarter, faster, and at scale. That’s how we move energy where it’s needed, 24/7/365 – and why we attract ambitious people who want to rethink the future of energy trading.

Our culture is simple: entrepreneurial, flat, and hands-on. You’ll get autonomy and trust from day one – and the responsibility to make an impact. We value initiative over titles, thrive in change, and back each other in building one of the most ambitious energy trading companies in North America - with the strength of a global platform behind us.

A people-first culture

At InCommodities, we win as a team. You’ll work alongside bold, honest, and ambitious people who challenge each other to grow – and get better every day.
Autonomy is real here, and it comes with trust. You’re expected to take ownership and make decisions that move InCommodities forward. Not by asking for permission, but by working with the right people to get it right. You’ve got freedom – and a strong team to back you up.
We care about personal and cultural fit. Not because we expect everyone to be the same, but because we’re building a place where people genuinely enjoy working – and want to stick around.
Expect a casual vibe. We keep a flat hierarchy, no dress code, and no corporate red tape to slow you down. Just trust, teamwork, and a healthy dose of fun along the way. And yes, we like to hang out outside office hours as well.
