Rethink Energy Trading.
We call it EnergyTech!
At InCommodities, we’re rethinking how energy trading works – across markets, systems, and people. As we expand across APAC, we’re looking for a Regulatory & Compliance Counsel to help us build a strong, scalable compliance foundation that supports growth rather than slows it down.
This is not your average compliance role. You’ll be working closely with the business, shaping how we operate in complex and evolving regulatory environments – and making sure we do it right.
What you'll do:
- Build, develop, and continuously improve compliance frameworks, policies, and governance across APAC markets
- Act as a trusted advisor to trading and business teams, providing practical, risk-based guidance on regulatory matters
- Support the business in navigating regulatory requirements while enabling commercial decision-making
- Monitor regulatory developments (horizon scanning) and assess their impact on our activities
- Lead compliance risk assessments and ensure appropriate controls are in place
- Identify, manage, and escalate compliance risks when needed
- Drive compliance awareness by developing and delivering training across the organisation
- Build and maintain relationships with regulators and external stakeholders
- Work closely with internal teams to embed compliance into everyday decision-making and processes
- (Nice to have) Support on legal matters such as contracts and interpretation of regulatory requirements
Your team
We don’t see compliance as a gatekeeper function – we see it as a business partner. You’ll be working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where your input directly shapes how we operate across multiple markets.
We’re part of a global community rethinking how technology and energy meet - with offices in Denmark, the US, and now across APAC (Singapore, Tokyo, Sydney and New Zealand).
What you bring
- 5-7 years of experience in regulatory/compliance roles within energy trading, commodities, or financial markets
- Strong understanding of relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g. Corporations Act, SFA, MiFID II, REMIT, Dodd-Frank, CFTC, METI, OTC reporting and position limits rules, exchange rules)
- Ability to translate complex regulation into practical, business-oriented guidance
- Strong risk assessment skills and a solutions-oriented mindset
- Confidence working with senior stakeholders and influencing decision-making
- Experience across multiple jurisdictions (APAC experience is strongly preferred)
- A proactive, collaborative approach – you don’t wait to be asked
- Experience in both in-house and/or advisory environments is a plus
What you can expect
- A high-impact role where you shape how compliance supports business growth
- A steep learning curve in a fast-moving and complex industry
- A high degree of autonomy and ownership
- A flat, transparent organisation where your voice matters
- A collaborative environment with ambitious and supportive colleagues
- A culture built on honesty, transparency, and rethinking the status quo
- Flexibility, health insurance, and time off that lets you recharge
- Great coffee, food, and a workplace where you don’t have to deal with unnecessary bureaucracy At InCommodities, we invest in our people. You’ll receive proper onboarding, regular feedback, and the support you need to grow into the role.
