Having established a strong presence in Europe and the US, we started our journey into APAC in 2024, with offices now in Singapore, Tokyo and Sydney.

In this newly established role you will be developing, building and implementing the risk framework for our businesses in APAC. The primary purpose is to establish and maintain a solid risk management framework that, through extensive market knowledge, risk monitoring, and tool automation, enables our trading teams to take the best possible positions in the markets. You will be having the sole responsibility for the risk platform. In the start-up phase, you will have strong sparring and support from the risk team in the European organization to help you develop and drive the risk management platform in APAC.

You will be working from our office in Singapore and be join of a group of colleagues who are building up our business from scratch with experience and knowledge from our European business. We all have an entrepreneurial mindset and we do what it takes to get tasks done - and we do it together. We are here to advance together and to build a successful business.

Responsibilities – you will:

  • Develop and automize our risk platform and risk tolls including owning and operating the VaR engine
  • Maintain and optimize risk mandates across all trading activities
  • Obtain a high level of understanding of the market domain to effectively collaborate with front office teams and align on products, strategies, trading limits and expectations
  • Be a trusted partner to the business
  • Take ownership and autonomy on quantitative risk projects
  • Take part in identifying risks and align and advice on risk appetite when entering new markets
  • Continuously evaluate and develop the risk framework to ensure best practice risk overviews and procedures are implemented and emerging risks are identified
  • be responsible for various day-to-day risk operations depending on current market situations
  • Report on and escalate risk incidents or breaches of limits
  • Stress-test open power and gas positions where liquidity risk arises
  • Be located in or willing to move to Singapore.

Qualifications – we imagine that you:

  • Have experience within Risk Management from the commodities or financial industry
  • Have strong mathematical and statistical skills
  • Are eager to work with data mining and data analysis
  • Are experienced within or have basic knowledge of programming languages, ideally Python, R, and SQL
