In 2020, we expanded our US presence by establishing an office in Austin, Texas. Today, our NA organization covers both power and natural gas. You will join our CFO Office and be the first member of our Compliance & Market Access team.
Your journey as Compliance & Market Access Specialist
You will work closely with our colleagues in Europe to transition the NA function from the team in Europe who currently covers the entire span of our business’s compliance & market access globally. Your responsibility will revolve around understanding the federal, state and local regulatory framework to ensure operational compliance for our energy trading activities. You will also be responsible for researching and understanding new markets and preparing required reporting for existing markets. This involves investigating regulatory requirements, gaining access to ISO’s, trading venues, and related market entities.
It is a role where structure and overview are essential and time to market for the business is crucial. Moreover, effective written and verbal communication skills are paramount due to the extensive engagement with a wide array of internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities – you will:
- Ensure that all trading operations are in compliance with financial and physical regulations (CFTC, DoE, FERC, PUCT, etc.) and required reporting
- Structure and manage the process of entering new markets – investigate requirements for entering specific markets, obtain trading licenses, gain access to local ISO’s, exchanges, trading venues, and much more
- Create overview and perform all relevant tasks to ensure company presence within existing markets
- Take ownership of and facilitate user and product administration practices on 3rd party platforms i.e., trader access to exchanges and trading venues
- Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk, develop and implement corrective action plans in collaboration with relevant departments
- Work closely with all relevant stakeholders across the organization, such as our various Trading teams, IT, Finance and Risk
- Live in or be willing to relocate to Austin, TX.
Qualifications – we imagine that you:
- Have 0-5 years’ experience in a similar position in an energy trading or other commodity trading company, with a preference given to those with 3-5 years.
- Have a bachelor’s degree or higher in business, economics, finance, law or similar
- Have experience with project and stakeholder management
